On 28 July 1960, a male child was born in Isuofia. Little was heard or known of the child. Like Shakespeare wrote in one of his epic books, Julius Caesar, “when beggars die there are no comets seen but the heavens themselves blaze the death of Princes”. In some dynasty and royalties, when kings are born, they are celebrated. That was not the case in Isuofia when Charlie Nwa Mgbafor was born. He was just like any other child. He, like other children, learnt to crawl, walk and run. He cried like others but at school he was focused on his studies, knowing that’s the only way for his voice to be heard.
He discovered his destiny early enough and keyed into it. In his words: “I can remember when I was in Uga boys (a penniless villageboy), all I wished was to get to a point of being able to buy Akara whenever i want, because then, only the children of the rich can afford to do that “a luxury at that time!”
The stakes are high, the expectations are high, the hopes of Ndi Anambra across the globe are intense but then, going by where Prof. Charles Soludo is coming from, what he has handled, Anambra is just a walk in the park. But where will Prof. Soludo get the resources to place Anambra on the pedestal of the people’s Manifesto: “A livable and a prosperous homeland?”
His Excellency, Gov Willie Obiano said that Soludo has the reach, contacts, connections, and knowledge to lead a state like Anambra state. Government needs money to work, and Prof. Soludo knows where money is, how to create and generate money to work for the people of Anambra.
Sir. Chris Atogu, who was just a class below Soludo in University of Nigeria, Nnsuka, said prior to Anambra election that “Anambra will turn to Gold under two years of Soludo’s Administration” Just like the popular book by Woo-Choong Kim titled: “EVERY STREET IS PAVED WITH GOLD”, Soludo believes that every street is paved with gold and that’s why everything he touch turns to GOLD.
