As drum slowly beat with two rhythms, one heralding the coming of Chukwuma Soludo and the other announcing the glorious departure of governor Willie Obiano,ndi-Anambra are once again caught in a euphoria of emotion and historic moment as Obiano on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 led his successor Soludo on a guided tour of the State Government House.
The emotional environment surrounding the ‘guided tour’ indicates a preparation for a transformative success in the state. Ndi-Anambra are in that period when emotions are typically felt, and is considered appropriate. A period for public meditation on the trials and triumphs, promises kept and broken records that made up governor Obiano’s eight years in Agu-Awka.
For outgoing governor Obiano, ndi-Anambra will honour the assurance they gave to him when he first presented Soludo as his successor. Soludo will be inaugurated as the fifth democratically elected governor of Anambra state since the return of democracy in the state in 1999, his government will not be a regular administration.
