The Adopt-a-School programme is an initiative aimed at improving child education in Anambra. The thrust of the project involves identifying, adopting, renovating and rehabilitating dilapidated public schools in the state; thereby creating model institutions of learning for children.
After adopting Capital City Secondary School and Amenyi Primary School, Awka, Mr. Clem Nwogbo; Chairman, Awka Millennium City Development Ltd and M-P Infrastructures Ltd has undertaken the following corporate social responsibility projects to improve the condition of learning:
-A storey building housing digital library, classrooms and assembly Hall at Capital City Secondary School, Awka.
-Rehabilitated and grassed football field at Amaenyi Community Primary School.
-A perimeter fence, security and refurbished classroom block at Amaenyi Community Primary School Awka.
-A drainage channel to combat erosion at Amaenyi Community Primary School.
-Modern toilet facilities at both schools, including borehole and overhead water tanks for constant water supply, and;
-Re-equipment of school’s physics, chemistry and biology laboratories to encourage STEM education amongst students
