Returning from an inspection tour Soludo described as some of the worst roads in Awka, the Governor dropped by at International Conference Center where Engineers in the Public Sector are being trained by Israeli Professionals.
Responding to men of the Press, Governor Soludo said his urban regeneration program is ongoing in the state.
He stated that the Israeli Team have come down to the state to provide capacity building for Engineers in the public sectors ranging from Architects, Quantity Surveyors and all professionals who are involved in design, supervision and delivery of projects.
“We have a large number of International Constructing Firms working for us”, Soludo said.
“We are interested in building local capacity and that is why the Israelis are here. Our people needs to learn the best technology.
“Many of the roads we are designing are guaranteed for twenty years. This is the kind of design we are implementing.
“In the Nigerian parlance, we say one is one. It’s not every year you construct 1Km of roads, the next year it washes off.
“Anambra is now a construction site and this is very helpful.
“The training of professionals in the public sector will be very handy in terms of road design, supervision, monitoring and evaluation as the case may be”, Soludo concluded.
