The Senator Representing Anambra Central Constituency and PDP Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central, Sen. Uche Ekwunife is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI).
She organized the National Innovation Workshop which held earlier today at International Conference Center, Awka.
The theme of the Workshop is titled; “Promotion of Local Inventors of Science, Technology and Innovation.”
She disclosed that the workshop used to hold in Abuja but as Chairman of the Committee decided to bring it home.
While expressing optimism that the workshop will continue to grow, she’s confident it would create synergy with the academia, industry and government.
She noted that STI is not a critical sector but a key driver that would lead Nigeria to the path of industrialization.
“We have a Governor who since inception of his campaign, vowed to drive a made in Nigeria car.
“From the day he was sworn in, we were served Abacha and Nkwu (palmwine) as meal.
“He’s entire family wore Akwete during his Inaugration into office, fulfilling the promise he made.
“We brought this workshop to Anambra to conform and align with Governor Soludo’s vision and aspiration, to be in tandem with the promises of his government.
“I must thank Governor Soludo for inspiring us.
“We all belong to different political parties but this is a professional setting.
“This is a very noble thing we are doing today. The Senator you sent have brought a sample of what she does in Abuja to Anambra.
“This is for you to know that the Senator you sent to Abuja is not just a Senator but a very strong Senator”, she concluded.
