Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo CFR who disclosed his administration is working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to carry out the task ndi Anambra employed him for, has beseeched church leaders to help in spreading the message of his government.
Governor Soludo made the statement in a Harvest mass and Baazar which held at St. Matthews Catholic Church Amawbia
Recounting how the Chaplain, Father Raphael conducts mass at the Governor’s Lodge, Soludo revealed on Mondays, the Pentecostals lead service, on Tuesdays, the Anglicans lead service then Wednesdays to Sundays, the Catholics takes over.
During previous years, Soludo said he attended mass at St. Matthews as an ordinary citizen but today, he joins them in thanksgiving as Governor.
While stressing on the need for the to keep a clean environment and avoid throwing debris on the roads which ends up blocking drainages and causing erosion, he stated emphatically that everyone has his or her own role to play for a better Anambra.
He informed the congregation on how his administration have declared a state of emergency on roads, awarding over 230km of roads for construction.
He also notified them on how appointment letters were presented to over 5000 teachers recruited by State Government which was conducted based on merit.
On donation towards the Baazar, Governor Soludo pointed out that the new code of conduct set aside for public officers in the state, starting from Governors to the least appointees is the non-participation of public donations.
However, he said that as a member of the parish, he would write his name in the book and contribute towards the Baazar.
The National Chairman of APGA, Ozonkpu Victor Oye appreciated the Governor for remembering to celebrate Harvest and Baazar with him at his parish.
He recalled how the Governor came to the church in 2020, 2021 and 2022, donating heavily towards the welfare of the church.
He also reminded Prof Soludo how he Prophesied to him, in front of the alter that God has anointed him to rule the state during the time of his campaign and by the grace of God, he has returned to the same parish where he uttered the prophecy as Governor.
Ozonkpu prayed that he will win his second tenure and rule Anambra comfortably for eight years.
Senator Uche Ekwunife representing Anambra Central was resolute in her stance to support the church in her Harvest and Baazar celebration.
She indicated her willingness to always support the church and even if she’s not a senator, she would keep supporting the church.
Applauding the Governor on recruiting 5000 teachers in the state, she maintained Soludo’s action was very unique and she’s very proud of him.
Chief of Staff to the Governor, Sir Ernest Ezeajughi, Commissioner for Special Duties, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, Member Representing Awka North, Anambra House of Assembly, Hon John Nwokoye amongst others were in attendance.
