Nigeria 🇳🇬 and Mexico 🇲🇽 have signed a $3 billion Hibiscus flower export deal that will generate $3 billion every year for Nigeria from the export of hibiscus flowers.

Nigeria will start exporting Hibiscus flower to Mexico in January 2023.

Hibiscus flower is used in making a popular fruit punch drink in Nigeria popularly called Zobo across Nigeria.

Zobo is a Hausa word commonly used in describing fruit punch drink.

Nigeria makes $600 million annually from the export of this flower.

This new deal pushes Nigeria’s total export revenue from $600 million to $3.6 billion.
