EL Cholo – Diego Simeone will step down as manager of Atletico Madrid at the end of the season, according to reports in Spain.
Things haven’t been going well for Atletico Madrid recently, and as the saying goes, “You Either Die A Hero, Or You Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villain.”
Simeone deserves to be remembered as a HERO in the annals of Atletico Madrid. He’s basically Sir Alex Ferguson for them.
Prior to the arrival of Simeone, Atletico Madrid was like any other ordinary Spanish club with little ambition.
But, since taking over, he has transformed Atlético into a proper club that has always given the two big boys of Spain, Real Madrid and Barcelona, a run for their money.
Simeone is the only manager to have won La Liga twice in the last decade, when Real Madrid and Barcelona were unrivaled.
If this season ends, he deserves all of the praise and accolades for transforming Atletico into a true European powerhouse.
