Elder, a man well-known in Amatolo community, has confessed to killing a pregnant woman with his gang and cooking and eating her like a dog, among other atrocities. Since then, he has been roaming the streets of the Amatolo community.
The young man, from Okumbiri Community in Sagbama Local Government Area and Amatolo in Southern Ijaw, had been carrying a pregnancy for more than 9 months. It was unusual for a 21-year-old man to be pregnant, so they took him to various locations in search of a solution, but his people’s efforts were futile.
As an Ijaw, people became suspicious that he had offended the gods of the land, so they asked him to confess whatever sins he had committed in order for him to be saved. He elder couldn’t keep it to himself any longer. They brought him to his father’s community (Okumbiri), where he confessed all his evil deeds.
He died in the early hours of January 9, 2023. The evil men do indeed live on after them.
