The Ukpor-Umunoko-Nza-Ozubulu road (popularly known as Afor to Afor) has been rehabilitated by Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s administration and is now 95% complete.
A flag-off ceremony was held near Mbazulike Amaechi’s house in Ukpor, with assurances that the remaining markings would be completed.
According to the Governor, extensive consultation revealed that the road is critical to the people of the area.
“During the campaign, I promised to build this road, and I later discovered that it ran through the late Dara Mbazulike Amaechi’s house.
“By the way, there will be a night of tributes in his honor at the International Convention Center Awka on Tuesday, and Nigeria will be in Anambra on Thursday and will travel this road.
“You will recall that we have only been in office for ten months. When we took office, the level of insecurity was at an all-time high, but it has since subsided.
“Our youths who are in the bushes should come out, emulate the late Amaechi who lived a good life.
“I believe the road markings will be completed very soon. Thank you for your vote. We took 16 of the 20 wards.
“We hired 5000 teachers. We increased civil servants’ salaries by 10%, among other things. We will continue to do more. We require collaborators. Encourage all APGA candidates to win “, the Governor continued.
Engr Ifeanyi Okoma, Commissioner for Works, stated that the revalidation of the road project was approved by the Anambra State Executive Council on November 26th, 2022.
Mr. Ikenna Anagboso, Transition Committee Chairman for Nnewi South Council Area, thanked the Governor for his development initiatives, saying that Nnewi South always gets their fair share, and Commissioner for Environment, Felix Odimegwu added his voice, assuring of mobilizing massive support for the party in the coming general elections.
The APGA candidate for Nnewi South in the State House of Assembly, Barrister Chieloka Okoye, the APGA candidate for the Nnewi South Senate seat, Hon. Chris Azubogu, the APGA candidate for the Nnewi South Federal Constituency, Hon. Uchenna Elodimmuo, and the APGA candidate for the Ekwusigo, Nnewi North and South Federal Constituencies, Hon. Uchenna Elodimmuo amongst others attended the event.
