Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo has said that APGA is the address and identity of Ndigbo.
He made this remark during the flag-off of the 7.8Km Achina-Onneh-Agbudu-Ogboji Road being handled by IDC Construction Company to be completed in 12 months.
“The construction of the road at Achina, which I promised to fix during my Governorship campaign, has begun,” Soludo said.
He recalled his time as a pioneer student at Uga Boys Secondary School in Aguata, naming APGA Candidate, Aguata 2 Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Tony Muobike and the President General of Achina as some of his classmates.
“The Chairman of APGA Aguata was the first person to lament the condition of this road in 2017. I then made the decision to physically inspect the road to determine its actual condition and discovered that it is completely dilapidated.
“I awarded the contract and pledged to fix the road. We give contractors a 30% to 50% down payment for each road we choose to construct.
“We guarantee a lifespan of 20 years for the road, so I told the contractor to do a good job. If they meet the standard we require, they will be given additional jobs to complete, Soludo said.
The Governor stated that his administration is working on a law that will specify that any funding provided to communities by the State Government will be based on their population.
The upcoming census must be taken seriously in order for everyone to show up in large numbers and be counted, Soludo emphasized.
Earlier, the Governor was thanked by Dr. Prince Chibueze Oforbuike, the TC Chairman of Aguata, for keeping his word and starting the road’s construction.
The Governor doesn’t realize the extent of what he has done for the people of Achina, according to Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke, an APGA candidate for the Aguata 1 Constituency in the Anambra House of Assembly, because at one point he felt ashamed of being a native of Achina.
The work of the Governor is unusual, according to Hon. Tony Muobike, APGA candidate for the Aguata 2 constituency in the Anambra House of Assembly. He further stated that ndi Anambra should be proud of their decision to vote for Soludo.
A few years ago, the road was impassable, a problem that significantly impacted the entire Aguata population, according to Engr. Dom Okafor, APGA candidate for Aguata Federal Constituency.
When you see a God-given leader, you follow him, according to Hon. Chris Azubogu, APGA Candidate for APGA in the Anambra South Senatorial District. He said he was going to Abuja to fight for the share of Aguata people.
The Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Sylvia Ifemeje, MD NewMap, Prof. Phil Eze, TC Chairman Idemili South, Hon. Neville Uchendu, APGA Achina Ward Executives, Aguata Traditional Rulers amongst others attended the Flag-off ceremony.
