Governor of Anambra State and National Leader of APGA, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo CFR, has praised the National Chairman of APGA, Ozonkpu Victor Oye, and the APGA National Working Committee for erecting a magnificent edifice as APGA regional Headquarters.
He maintained that the National Chairman has laid the foundation for APGA to be built to last, demonstrating that the party has come to stay.
The Governor made the disclosure at the commissioning of the APGA Regional Headquarters in Awka.
“We have come to applaud the leadership of the party under your leadership, and we will be eternally grateful.” You have etched your name in platinum in the annals of Nigerian political leaders.
“Given the circumstances, we could spend the entire day expressing our gratitude.” You occupied the seat and left it in better condition than you found it. This is the most important reason for public service.
“APGA is Nigeria’s only grand alliance of progressives.” “Today, we not only have our own national headquarters in Abuja but also a five-story building as a monumental regional office in Awka that is also our property,” Soludo explained.
“The history books will bear proper testimony of Ozonkpu’s remarkable leadership and all NWC members; it’s a testament in terms of attitude toward public resources and political parties.”
“Ozonkpu, you have provided leadership and lived it,” he said.
The Governor proposed a plaque at the APGA National and Regional Headquarters with all of the names of the APGA NWC.
He stated that APGA is on a mission to redeem Nigeria and bring it to its full potential.
Earlier speaking, the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Dr. Sir Ozonkpu Victor Oye, recalled asking how APGA could be operating from a rented property in the state where it was founded. He added that from that point on, a dream was born.
Ozonkpu revealed that the structure includes brand new EEDC transformers, a massive generator house, 10 water tanks supported by six pillars, 11 rooms, 13 toilets, and solar panels with 20 batteries that can power seven standing air conditioners.
He also stated that the new elected National Chairman, State Chairman, and Zonal Officers of APGA will work on one floor of the building, while the other floors will be rented out to keep the building in good condition.
Ozonkpu, who was pleased to have served the party for nearly 8 years, advised those who ran for the state Congress but were unsuccessful to support the new leadership and wait their turn, because there is a time for everything under the sun.
The Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim Speaker Anambra House of Assembly, Rt Hon Uchenna Okafor, Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, Anambra State Chairman APGA, Barr. Ifeatu Obi Okoye, Members of Anambra State Exco, Members of APGA NWC, amongst others attended the event.
